Did the Father hear Jesus’ prayer? Of course He did! Of the Father, Jesus affirmed, “I knew that You always hear Me” (John 11:42). As the New Testament unfolds, we see that the Father’s answer is both positive and perfect.

The Father always hears the Son.

Does the Father dwell “in” His disciples? Yes!

  • The Father makes His home in each disciple who loves Jesus and keep His word (John 14:23).

  • Each disciple’s body is “a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God” (1 Corinthians 6:19).

  • “[You are] in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you” (Romans 8:9).

Since the one Father dwells in every true believer, He also dwells in them collectively. Through His Spirit, He indwells His one church, pictured as His living temple.

Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16).

In [Christ] you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:22).

Does the Son dwell “in” His disciples?

[My Father and I] will come to him and make Our home with him (John 14:23).

Do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? (2 Corinthians 13:5).

Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him (Romans 8:9).

It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me (Galatians 2:20).

[I pray] that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith (Ephesians 3:17).

Christ in you [is] the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

To those who once had entered Christ but then left Him, He says,

“I will come in to him.”

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20).
