Are true disciples blessed to be “in” Christ?

Consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:11).

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

Because of [God] you are in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:30).

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Since every disciple is in Christ, they all collectively are in Him.

As many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. …you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:27-28).

“We, though many, are one body in Christ.”

We, though many, are one body in Christ (Romans 12:5).

To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:2).

To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:1 cf. Philippians 1:1; 4:21; Colossians 1:2).

The Father has provided all for which Jesus prayed in John 17. He and the Father were already one, the Father in the Son, and the Son in the Father. All true disciples are now in the Father and the Son, and They in the disciples. These are spiritual realities accomplished by God Himself. Like the reality of salvation, this perfect unity does not depend on us. Because of God’s gracious invitation, we humans can participate, but only by believing Jesus as presented in the apostles’ testimony and teaching. (They are the only source for knowing Jesus and His will. They delivered only “one faith.”) Learning the Good News, we can enter Christ in His way, thus entering His death and resurrection. “In Christ” we enjoy unity with all others “in Christ.” Our role is to enjoy that unity, to participate in it, to be encouraged by it and energetically maintain it (Ephesians 4:3).
