So far, so good. You want to learn, and God wants you to learn—a beautiful blend! But God wants you to know more than information. He wants you to know Him. He reveals facts, but He reveals much more: He reveals Himself. And He does so in the most amazing way. He began by revealing aspects of His character in the Old Testament (Exodus 34:6-7; 1 Kings 8:23; Psalm 7:11; Isaiah 59:1-2). Then, having laid the groundwork, the Creator came in person. Look carefully at the way the apostle John introduced Jesus in the New Testament.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth…. For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, He has made Him known. (John 1:1-3, 14, 16-18)

“He has made Him known.” Jesus, God the Son, is fully qualified to reveal God the Father to us. Jesus is “the image of the invisible God” and the Father’s agent in creating and sustaining all things (Colossians 1:15-17). “[Jesus] is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power” (Hebrews 1:3).

“He has made Him known” is more than knowing facts about the Creator. This is knowing Him personally, coming into a relationship that thrives into all eternity.

And this is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (John 17:3)

[Jesus said,] “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.” (John 14:6-7)

In its own humble way, this Bible course encourages that relationship. It aims to be like the Lord’s servant Philip as he helped the Ethiopian to understand. May it be a blessing for your spiritual journey. As you go forward, we pray that the Creator brings you safely to the high destination for which He created you.
