This holy history of the fall of man shows us the origins of the problems in the world. We see these problems in our lives because of temptation and sin which Satan uses to trouble and distract us
a. We think we know best in everything, just as Eve and Adam did.
b. Our understanding of right and wrong is confused, and our relationships with other people are full of anger and misunderstanding.
c. We are controlled by sin and feel the temptations of evil.
d. We become strangers to the ways of God, and refuse to accept responsibility for our sins and actions.
e. We rebel against God, worshiping evil things and seeing God’s ways as too difficult.
We seek what we think will make us happy, rather than looking for what is right and good. Truly, man was, and is, in need of God’s help and leadership through his prophets. It was necessary for God to bring judgment on sin in order to bring us back to the real purpose he had for us. We thank God that he did not throw away his creation. Instead, he was faithful to his purpose to create a world that would show his goodness and honor.
