In the beginning of all things God, the one true God, created the world and all the universe. He is one, and by his power alone God made all things. The creation of the world is recorded for us in the Torah (Taurat) of Prophet Moses (Musa). God revealed to this great prophet the message we call the Torah. The Torah is divided into five sections: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. In the first book of the Torah, Genesis, we read of the creation of the universe. Here are some of the words of God about that creation:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (Genesis 1.1-3)
God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. (Genesis 1.4-5)
And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1.24-27)
After telling about the creation of land, sea and sky, and all living things, the Book of God says:
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. (Genesis 1.31-2.2)(means chapter one, verse thirty one, through chapter two, verse two)
