The examples above may lead to a deeper discussion, perhaps an opportunity to open the Bible together. Even better is to set up a series of appointments for personal Bible studies. However, not every situation is suitable, such as when people are traveling and not likely to see each other again. So, carry with you information about how the person can study by correspondence.
Example: “I would enjoy continuing this discussion. Do you think we could do that through lessons that I have found helpful? They are from my friends at World Bible School. They are true to the Bible, good quality, and always free of charge. You can enroll by going to worldbibleschool.org or, for paper courses, by writing to ______.” (In some countries, WBS has offices that speed delivery of courses. Where available, use a local address. If you need a general address, you can use WBS, P.O. Box 2169, Cedar Park TX 78630 U.S.A.)
If you wish to be the correspondence teacher, ask for the person’s email or mailing address, then use the WBS method, which you can ask about at info@worldbibleschool.net. If the person is reluctant to give an address, you may give them your address. For this purpose, carry a card with contact information. If you feel there is some disadvantage in giving a personal address, you may use a separate email account or, with permission from church leaders, the church address where mail can be passed on to you. When possible, carry WBS courses with you to give away to interested persons. The best courses for this purpose are The Way (the introductory lesson) and This Is Good News (a summary of the Gospel). Make sure contact information is written into the booklets you give away.
Example: “Please accept this booklet as a gift from me. If you find it helpful, as I have, it can lead to other courses in the WBS series. They help you discover more of life’s meaning. All courses from WBS are free of charge. The teachers are volunteers who want to share the blessings they have found in the Bible. They are friends who become like pen pals, encouraging you and helping with your questions. The courses are so popular that WBS receives over a million new applicants each year.”
