Another leader in media ministries tells a similar personal story. In his book about miracles, he writes,
I knew in my innermost being that I was healed, and I praised God for healing. My heart still didn’t beat right. My body was still partially paralyzed…. It is a mistake to start looking at your body to see if you are healed.
In a separate booklet, he tells more about that experience.
The minute [the pastor] anointed me and prayed, I lifted my hands and shouted, “Thank God, it is done!”… That was the point of contact when hands were laid on me. That was the point where I started to believe “I received my healing.” No, I did not feel healed. No, I did not look healed….
People in the congregation began asking me, “Did the Lord really heal you?”
I said, “He sure did.”
They said, “Well, you don’t look healed. How do you feel?”
“Not any different.”
“Well, if you do not look any different, and you don’t feel healed, and we can see that you don’t look healed, what makes you think you are healed?”
I said, “I don’t think it; I know it” [emphases are his].
