  • The belt of truth (Ephesians 6:14). Learn “the truth that is in Jesus” (Ephesians 4:21). Speak “the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15). Truth is the strong belt that secures and supports spiritual armor and clothing.
  • The breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14). Christ and His righteousness are your perfect covering. You also “pursue righteousness” (1 Timothy 6:11) for you are completely new, “created after the likeness of God in true righteousness” (Ephesians 4:24).
  • Feet fitted with the readiness of the Gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:15). Formerly you had no firm footing. Now God prepares you to win. The Good News, like good shoes, lets you run confidently as you carry the glad tidings to others (Romans 10:15).
  • The shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16). Do you trust God’s Son? Do you believe enough to follow Him? Then you have faith, the shield “that can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16).

Use All The Armor Of God

  • The helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6:17). Like each piece of armor, your salvation is a gift from God, made by God, and therefore the perfect protection.
  • The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17). This sword reached you and cut through to your heart (Acts 2:36). Let it keep working on you. Use the divine power of “it is written” to defeat Satan (Matthew 4:4). “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you” (James 4:7-8). Also use God’s word to win others.
