We pray that God will enlighten your understanding and give you a great desire to know Jesus Christ in truth. We pray that you will give yourself the opportunity to think prayerfully and thoughtfully about what Jesus has said. May the Almighty God bless you with a love for truth and peace.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?
Jesus Christ is mentioned in the Qur’an more than 90 times. However, the Qur’an does not offer much detail about his life or teachings. This is why we invite our Muslim friends to study the message of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible both seriously, prayerfully. Let us lay aside the prejudices we may have about religions in the world, and let us truthfully consider the teachings and life of Isa al-Masih. This study course is not intended to defend Christianity, or to give you Western ideas. It is simply to help you know what the Bible says about Jesus. The world is full of hatred, jealousy and fighting. Let us put away such differences and look honestly and openly for spiritual truth.

WHO IS A PROPHET?
It is written in the Holy Bible:

Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. Prophet Amos, 3.7

Not just anyone could be a prophet. First, in the Bible, the greatest prophets of God were men called by God from the line of Abraham (Ibrahim). This is because of the promise made to Abraham:

The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12.1-3, the first book of the Taurat

This line of prophets went through Abraham to Isaac (Ishaq), Jacob (Yakub), Joseph (Yusuf), Judah (Yehuda), Moses (Musa), David (Dawud), Solomon (Suleimana), and many others down to Jesus Christ and his disciples. Sura 29.27 of the Qur’an also teaches that this is the line of prophecy.

Second, true prophets of God must know him by his true name:

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” Exodus 3.14-15, second section of the Taurat of Moses

Any prophet who does not know God by this special name—I AM (in the Hebrew language, Yahweh)—is not of the true line of prophets. Third, the message of a prophet of God will agree with the messages given by God to prophets before him. There will be no changes or different teachings from what God revealed to prophets before:

Third, the message of a prophet of God will agree with the messages given by God to prophets before him. There will be no changes or different teachings from what God revealed to prophets before:

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. Deuteronomy 4.2, fifth section of the Taurat of Moses

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” Jesus Christ, Matthew 5.17-18
