Even sincere Christians have faults. They stumble spiritually from time to time. Yet they are not destroyed. Their new service is never held back by a sinful record. This is because all who remain in the New Covenant enjoy a perfectly clean record in God’s sight (Colossians 1:22; Ephesians 5:27; Jude 1:24). While they walk with Christ and confess their sins, Jesus’ blood continues to cleanse them from “all sin” and “all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:7, 9). God forgives and forgets all our wrongs. This grace is the outstanding feature of the New Covenant (Matthew
26:28; Romans 11:26-27; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Hebrews 10:14-22; 12:24).

I will establish a new covenant…. They shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more. (Hebrews 8:8, 11-12)

Here is true freedom!

Here is true freedom: the freedom to follow God closely, without being held back by guilt or failure. At the practical level, here is ever increasing freedom from sin’s control (Romans 6:14; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18).
