In lesson one we learned that God made Adam, the first man.  God recognized that Adam was alone.  Not only were there no other humans on earth but Adam had no partner, no friend, no companion.  To Adam’s shock and delight God made him a partner, a woman to be his wife.  When God brought her to Adam, he exclaimed:

“This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman’ because she was taken out of man” (Genesis 2:23).

In the Genesis 1 account of Creation, it says that:

“God created man in His own image, In the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.”

Then God told them the following words,

“…Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth…”  (Genesis 1:27-28).

Without God’s miraculous intervention there is only one way to“be fruitful and increase in number,” and that is for the seed of a man to contact the egg of a woman.  It was God who told the first husband and wife to have sex to produce children.  God created sex. Man did not think about sex by himself, neither did sex come from the sinful intent of Satan.  It was, and is, a beautiful expression of love shared between a husband and his wife!

God created the human body in a marvelous way.  No one can manufacture a robot that comes even close to God’s creation.  Consider the heart that beats about once per second for a person’s entire life.  The heart of a person, who is 50 years old, has beaten about 1.5 billion times.   The heart pumps 7,500 litres of blood in a 24-hour period.  Another amazing thing that God created, in the body of every healthy man and woman, was a strong sexual system.  He created it to ensure the reproduction of the human race.  An added part of that is the pleasure it gives to a husband and wife to express their love for one another.
