The prophets and Jesus said that the kingdom of God was coming. To be citizens in God’s kingdom, we must obey the King. Some of the things we do now go against the King’s will, and we need to repent about those things.

Repenting means a change of heart, a firm decision to follow God. It is followed by action. When we repent, we agree to work with God to change the way we live.

Memory Verses

1) Mark 1:15 – The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.

2) Romans 10:2-3 – For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

3) 2 Corinthians 7:10 – For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

4) Acts 26:20 – [I preached] that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance.

God and King, we welcome Your kingdom.

Help us to be humble like little children so that we can accept Your way instead of ours.

May we go beyond mere words, to true change; beyond a religious face to a real relationship with You.

We want to place ourselves under Your reign, and to enter the blessings of Your kingdom.
