Why begin this way, placing history in the context of the eternal Creator? Because “history” is really “His Story.” God began time, and God will end time. Throughout time, the unchanging God remains in charge.
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared, a great King over all the earth. (Psalm 47:2)
The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all. (Psalm 103:19)
[God] changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. (Daniel 2:21)
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion endures from generation to generation…. The Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom He will. (Daniel 4:3, 25)
