Part of humility is learning our limits. We want to be like the Lord, but we are not the Lord. Whereas Jesus could read minds (Luke 5:22; 9:47), we cannot look inside any person’s heart (1 Corinthians 2:11). Therefore, apply the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12; Luke 6:31). Do we like to be accused of thoughts we do not have? Then don’t accuse others that way. Do we want others to think the best of our motives? Then do so for them.
