We learn many things from the life of Prophet Abraham. We see that he was a man of faith to whom God spoke freely. He was the father of many nations, for the Arabs, Jews and other tribes all see him as their ancestor. Those who follow Jesus Christ also see the special role of Abraham in the will of God. God showed through Abraham he importance of blessings and curses. What God has chosen and blessed, no one can curse. Anyone who tries to curse or oppose God’s chosen people will be judged and cursed by God. God told Abraham:
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse…” Genesis 12.3
We learn about holy agreements with God from his promises and his goodness. We learn of God working to save man through a family of believers. We see that through the seed, or children, of Abraham the whole world will be blessed. We also learn of the importance of faith in the one true God. Truly, Prophet Abraham was the father of all who believe in the true God. We learn that God calls people out of the world of darkness and false religion into the light of truth. God called Abraham away from his people. Abraham left his land and his past so that he would be a new person who walked in the light of God. This was God’s path of true religion.
