There are two ways that God judges mankind. Sometimes he sends a great act of judgment after much warning and patience. He used Noah to warn the people of his time by preaching to them for many years while building the great boat. These judgments bring change for large numbers of people, even whole nations. One day God will judge the whole world. Other Bible sections that speak of such great judgments are Jonah (Yunus) 3.1-4; Jeremiah 50; Matthew 24-25; Revelation 20.
God also judges through moral laws. When we break his moral laws of right and wrong, we face problems like distress, disease, broken relationships, and spiritual pain. This kind of judgment may come into our lives very quickly or it may come later. Sometimes God also purposely neglects people because of their hard hearts and rejection of his moral laws. Hear the Word of God through Prophet Hosea:
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. Hosea 4.6
It is so wonderful that in all of his judgments God also offers mercy and forgiveness! God wants man to repent before sin can control and destroy us. He wants to save us from our mistakes.
