We know “the evil one cannot harm” us – no matter what happens to us! This foundational truth remains steady and sure, whether our feelings go up or down. Living a life of love reminds us of God’s love that never changes. He is far greater than our changing emotions and circumstances. We rely on God, not on our feelings, for God is far greater than the human heart.

By this [Christ’s love and our imitation of it] we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything (1 John 3:19-20). M

God makes possible for us even that which seems impossible. Remember Paul’s prayer that includes us,29 a prayer for us to know love that is beyond knowing. Pray that prayer for yourself and for your family members. As you pray, take to heart the Source of your winning strength – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – whose unlimited power does the impossible, even filling you with “all the fullness of God.”

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father…. that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:14,16-19).

29. If we are saints, we are included in “all the saints,” Ephesians 3:18.
