Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another (Ephesians 4:25).
Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving (Ephesians 5:4).
Give up the devil’s language, which is lying (John 8:44). Learn God’s language, which is telling the truth.11 Quit making jokes that hurt and debase people. Instead lift up praises and thanks. Stop your foolish and careless words that bring condemnation.12 In their place grow caring, encouraging words that give the fruit of life.13
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29). M
