Do you “long for His appearing”? Then this hope belongs to you also. In the Scriptures, hope is neither a guess about the future nor a weak wish.22 When you say, “I hope to go to heaven” that should mean, “I expect to go to heaven. I have that positive assurance for the future.” Such a “living hope” comes, not from wishful optimism, but from purposeful minds rooted in the truth of Christ’s resurrection and set on Christ’s return.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you… (1 Peter 1:3-4). M

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:13). M

Bold belief and heart-felt hope lead you to celebrate now! For the realities you see by faith fill you with feelings of joy that can hardly be contained or even fully expressed.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory… (1 Peter 1:8). M
