In the beginning of creation, there was a tree of life in the garden with Adam and Eve. When the man and woman sinned, God sent them out of the garden because in their sinful condition he could not allow them to have access to the tree of life.
And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. Genesis 3.22-23
We read that in the city of God, the dwelling place of the righteous, the tree of life is there for all nations:
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. Apostle John’s Book of Revelation 22.1-3
Jesus is the author of life and salvation. He came to give us access to this tree of life once again. He said:
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10.10
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. Apostle John’s First Letter 5.12
We invite you to come to Jesus Christ and have life. We ask you to consider his promises of a new life. Just as he made you a human being, he can re-make you. He can give you a new way of living that is so much better than you can imagine. He will give you the victory of faith, life and salvation. You must choose to believe or not to believe; submit, or not to submit. What we have discussed in these lessons is only a very small portion of the truth and blessings that are in Christ Jesus. Many treasures still wait for you to discover. Come and know him. Come and have life.
“Death has been swallowed up in victory.” …thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians 15.54-57
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Words of Jesus Christ, Matthew 11.28-30
