God promised that just as he had saved Israel from Egypt in the days of Prophet Moses, he would once again call his people out of a different kind of slavery. This was not only the slavery of serving a human king for nothing, but the slavery of sin. He would call all people of the world into one kingdom. His servant, the great prophet, would accomplish this, but not through a human kingdom:
“I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43.6-7
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” Prophet Ezekiel, Ezekiel 36.26-27
For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations. Isaiah 61.11
In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. Prophet Daniel, Daniel 2.44
In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days [God] and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Daniel 7.13-14
Again, the Bible makes it very clear that someone very special was coming. Through this greatest of prophets, God would create a kingdom of grace and peace that would last forever.
