This is Good News

Again, the Good News is intensely personal, though it is the same message for each of us: He loved—and still loves—me! He gave Himself for me! True, God loves all in the world (John 3:16). But His heart is so great that it also focuses on us individually. No matter how far I have fallen, the tender heart of God reaches even to me.

The Good News makes no sense to people who think they are good (Luke 5:31-32). But this Good News speaks directly to my heart. It is mine to claim, mine to believe, mine to experience and share—all because my Creator truly cares for me. Now I can know my destiny, that I possess eternal life even now. I can feel secure in my special place with Him, trusting that our relationship lasts forever.

… there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing (2 Timothy 4:8).

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love… (1 John 4:16).

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life (1 John 5:13).
